One cannot assume motivations, tones, facial expressions, feelings, emotions….with only a written text. It’s deceitful!

Exclamation and question marks does not clarify anything concerning how the writer is feeling. Voice, facial expressions and tone do. So….assuming things with only a written text…one will easily confuse things!
